Capiago is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about north of Milan and about southeast of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,196 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 Capiago observes the Roman Rite while Intimiano observes the Ambrosian Rite. The municipality of Capiago contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) olmeda and intimiano.
